More bad news for rhinos

Another piece of bad news, this time the black rhinos in West Africa. From this report it suggests that there are no longer any black rhinos left in West Africa.

May as well say extinct full stop I think, I don't believe there are any in captivity

I would be sadly pessimistic about the fate of all rhino species as the misguided and primitive belief in the imagined properties of the horn is not diminishing with greater education and affluence. With more money and sophisticated equipment it is only a matter of time before all wild populations are wiped out and then the captive ones will be targeted by well armed and determined criminals.
