What animals do you expect in zoo games?

Ironically, I think I've seen snow leopards show up the most often in zoo games out of all the spotted cats. As for otters and seals, I feel like you can still generally expect them, even in games that lack marine expansions.
I also feel like you can generally expect koalas and Komodo dragons, since koalas are the second most popular Australian species after kangaroos, and Komodo dragons are most commonly occurring reptile species (crocodiles and turtles show up in practically every zoo game as well, but the depicted species usually varies).
I'm a little unsure -- are you going off your personal expectations or numbers? I went 100% on personal.

I’d say a combination of both. I’ve looked at a lot of different rosters for games I have and haven’t played, and though most games have a least two spotted cats, snow leopards are the ones I’ve seen the most (probably due to their distinctive appearance and their conservation relevance).
I suppose you’re right about koalas, Komodo dragons, otters, and seals being “bonus” rather than “expected,” since those animals were all relegated to expansion packs for Planet Zoo and the Zoo Tycoon Board Game as well.

I decided to revisit my previous list but this time focus strictly on numbers rather than personal expectations. To make the best "rough guide" for what animals to generally expect, I limited my research to installments in the most prominent zoo game franchises (no mobile games).
A total of nine games were surveyed, those being Zoo Tycoon, Zoo Tycoon 2, Zoo Tycoon Xbox, Zoo Tycoon: The Board Game, Zoo Empire, Wildlife Park, Wildlife Park 2, Wildlife Park 3, and Planet Zoo.
Since I wanted to focus only on the most commonly occurring animals, I took note of whatever animals appeared in at least three games. For animals representing by multiple species, I took note of whichever species appeared twice.
Entries are organized by habitat type and ranked from most to least common. So without further ado, here's my updated list:
