I have golden pheasants, silver pheasants and lady Amherst pheasants. They have undergone 2 months of quarantine period. I want to know the pros and cons about keeping them in to decide whether to release them to be free range or to be in the enclosures.

Advantages to keeping them enclosed include safety from predators and other dangers (vehicles, theft, etc), greater control over what and how much they are eating, and greater access to them in case medical care is needed

From a biosecurity angle it's safer to keep them indoors. Not sure what things are like in Ghana but right now in the US, avian influenza is a big concern. You'll be able to better keep your birds healthy if you control their exposure to outside birds.

Much depends what your local area is like. If there is plenty of undergrowth with tall trees for roosting, they might stay around. Even then, they will probably stray. Silvers are the most likely to stick around. Goldens and Amherst’s will hybridise if they have access to each other. Silver Pheasant cocks at liberty will often become aggressive to people. Best kept in aviaries!
