What do you think of zoo animals?

I have visited few zoos nearby, they are well build with good environment and with lots of greenery around it.

But i did notice in every zoo some of the animals there are being very lazy, they don't react at all. We can see the bored face of them i especially seen it on the face of the lion, deer, monkeys, etc.

Does it is because of being in a cage for the whole day and no activity perform by them.

I would love to know from you all, if any suggestion to make this animals mood good so i can suggest to the zoo members.

Waiting for your good suggestions.:)

During my visit to many zoos I realized, that even in the best of them, there always seem to be loosers and winners among the animals, where keeping is concerned.
It needs however a lot of time with observation until it is possible to judge, is this particular animal bored, or only just tired, is it age, or the personality?
Mentioning lions and deer, personally I would find these species especially difficult to judge, as lions f.i. are known for "hanging around" in the wild.
But nevertheless, whichever zoo you could convince to introduce enrichment, it would be for the benefit of the animals.

I wonder what you expect these animals to be doing?
An adult lion spends most of his or her time asleep...whether in a zoo or in the savanna.

Are you looking for natural behavior or more entertaining animals?

Still, when all of the physical needs are met by keepers, additional stimulation is needed. Keepers have developed quite a variety of species specific programs for enrichment.
