What is your favorite type of zoo exhibit?

My favorite exhibits are immersive rainforest exhibits that try to cover up the animal's boundary as much as possible. It creates a "realistic" feel that many exhibits lack. I also like underwater viewings because they give a different viewpoint of the animal.

Do you mean an indoor rainforest building (a la JungleWorld) or an outdoor area designed to give the illusion of being in a rainforest as much as possible (a la Congo Gorilla Forest)?

I am a fan of good nocturnal and reptile houses. However, despite never entering one or being to a zoo that has one I am also quite interested in 'swamp houses'-preferably with crocodilians. I believe they can be considered the same as tropical houses functionally speaking but their respective zoos seem to consider them as different- Brookfield having both Tropic World and the swamp house and I believe Paignton too had or has a tropical house distinct from its now closed crocodile and swamp house.

I enjoy primate habitats (especially those for orangs and gibbons) that primarily utilise trees as climbing structures, with ropes in between. Stuff like the High Canopy at Auckland and the Treetop Trail at Singapore are top tier habitats.

I agree, I am a sucker for any glass dome type enclosure. From what I recall the only one I have ever been to is the Swamp Forest at Auckland, which is super immersive with small fish ponds appearing from between the planted walls, and the Sunda Gharial are beautiful.

That does look quite beautiful! And the Sunda gharial are definitely another point of interest for me.

Bird houses and aquariums. Sadly both seem to be disappearing in American zoos, but most zoos still maintain decent bird collections. In an ideal world, every zoo would have a bird house with a walk-in aviary attached, and a few aviaries in the surrounding gardens.

My favourites are the really big fish tanks with lots of fish. Particularly if the species are all smaller and plentiful (a la Toronto's Lake Malawi cichlid tank), but reef tanks do the trick as well, even with larger species. They just have a calming aspect to them and it's super nice.

I love exhibits that make the animal move like they would do in the wild. Ex: The new elephant exhibit at Cincinnati zoo has enrithcment scattered around the habitat, which by the way is very big, and so the animals will go from place to place to eat the food, like they would do in the whild. I also love when primates or carnivores get rotational exhibits, changing the environment once in a while also can be very enriching for the animals.
