Whats in your backyard?

I pay the greatest attention to mammals.

Deer
"Chuck" the ground hog
An annoying male robin
Gray Squirrel
Turkey(becoming MUCH less frequent probably due to street having forested areas cut down for houses)
Turkey vulture
Red fox 2-3 times
Once even a black bear
Eastern chimpmunk
Northern Cardinal
Red bellied Woodpecker
etc...

Currently I have a Masked Plover sitting on a clutch of four eggs (again). She did this last year, but the eggs were all infertile. I'm guessing the same will happen this year as the incubation period ended at least two weeks ago, but she still sitting tight.

Once again the Masked Plovers have laid another clutch in my backyard, however this year they have had a chick hatch.

Last week when I was biking home from work I saw a javelina. First time I have seen one in the city center (though it was along a very small wash in a residential area).

Heard a great horned owl a few nights ago. Been a while since I've heard one by my apartment. There was a short period of time where I heard one every night, very noisy.

I live in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, and we have at least 8 species of Parrots - Sulphur Crested and Yellow tailed Black Cockatoos, Galahs, Long Billed and Little Correllas, Gang Gangs, King Parrots, Crimson and Eastern Rosella, Rainbow, Little and Musk Lorikeets, and on the odd occasion, Red rumped Parrots. I have also seen escaped Ring necks, cockatiels and once a female Ecelectus Parrot! And that's just the parrots! of course we have all the other usual Melbourne birds in the area.
