I know Fiona at the Cincinnati Zoo was born at 29 pounds on January 24th, 2017, and is the lightest Common Hippopotamus calf to survive. Does anyone know what the heaviest hippo calf at birth, regardless of gender, to survive? I cannot find anything above 90 pounds on hipposworld.de. I have heard of a male hippo that lived at a zoo in Germany that weighed 10,000 pounds as an adult, and was the heaviest known adult hippo ever.

That would be hard to obtain (at least accurately). A lot of zoos (especially nowadays) don’t even see the calf for the first few weeks of birth, let alone be able to weigh it. Fiona (who you’ve mentioned) was only weighed due to her being hand raised, and I don’t think a lot of other calves are being hand raised too.
