Why is this? It's the right way up when I select it to upload then once uploaded it's upside down! I'm confused

was your photo taken with a camera, or with a tablet or something? The most likely cause is that your photo really is upside-down but it looks correct on your computer because the computer automatically adjusts the orientation for viewing. You would need to rotate the photo 180 degrees with your photo processing software and save it in that orientation before uploading it.
