When Were Wheelchairs First Used In Zoos?

I'm a new member. Historically, when were wheelchairs first introduced in zoos?

I think it's the diversity of zoo related subjects.That keep me coming back.

As you have mentioned wheelchairs. It has me thinking how rare it is to see people with obvious diabilaties at a zoo.

Most zoos are terribly unsuited to wheelcahairs! The signage oportunities for blind people are broad and worth considering l am sure.

The theraputic assets of contacts with animals are well documented. Yet l have never seen this potential explored in zoos. In the direction of people with disabilities.
