Hello everyone!!

Have a College trip to Whipsnade Zoo on the 5th and was wondering whether anyone wants me to get any pictures of exhibits etc and also any animals that are a must see! I visited the Zoo about 4 years ago and was wondering whether any new animals have been added??

Regards,
PK

New exhibits: Rhinos of Nepal, Cheetah Rock and I'm not sure how old it is but you might not have seen the Lion exhibit?

Must sees include all of the above and also the elephants (and the talk, if its on in the winter months) and also the discovery centre is always worth a visit. Not forgetting, penguins, bears (its best to see them when they are being fed) chimps and lemurs.

also, bison hill, sloth bears and the sealions

yeah, most people dont go to bison hill, they see the penguins and turn round and walk back.

does anyone know why they dont sign post that there are prarie dogs in with the bison on the hill???

The prairie dogs are free-ranging and just happen to usually hang out with their fellow-prairie dwellers! They're covered on the couple of signs that are around for the free-ranging animals as I recall.

ive never seen a sign for them, they are not on the free roaming signs. (i assume you mean the ones saying about the wallabys, mara and deer?)

They're the ones - could have sworn I'd seen one with them on. If not then they should be! :)

yeah i know they should, thats why i was confused, there isnt even a sign by the bison to say about them. ive never seen them in any other part of the park.

If you walk along the fence of the Bison paddock(Bison Hill) you may find a bit of Zoo History- some of the very old-style labels for 'Bison', from the 1940-60's era are still on the fence- or they were recently. I think there may be a few others of these still dotted around the park too.
