Visited today (great day btw - tiger cubs very interactive at the viewing windows first thing this morning) and only thing notable we saw to report is that there is a travelling trailer thing pulled up against one of the doors of the bongo house.

nonsense to compare wild herds with artificial captive herds but if you insist on doing so then you need to consider that every wild cow of breeding age would have calves at foot and even those past breeding age would
have offspring within the herd. even lowest ranking females would be bred. so to base your idea of social status on whether or not a cow has a calf is quite funny

Also visited today, some tentative dates being advertised for the new aquarium at the zoo entrance (“Summer 2019”) but no visible breaking ground yet.

I have just got back home to Staffordshire from my first visit to Whipsnade today.
The tiger exhibit is fantastic, the best group of animals I have seen in the UK.
