At Rio Grande Zoo in New Mexico, Sally the White Rhino has been euthanised at age 44 to ease her passing:

She was one of the oldest white rhinos in captivity. While it's sad that she's no longer with us, she lived a full-length life in rhino-terms. Congratulations to the keepers at Rio Grande Zoo and other institutions that have looked after her over the years. If only white rhinos in the wild regularly lived to this age.
