Why are tigers killing people

Because they can?

Because for some reason (starvation or even accidental encounter?) these particular ones overcome their natural caution of people and make a human kill- from then on it becomes easier to just do it again and again. I've also heard that a 'maneater' that has cubs can teach her cubs to do it too- fairly likely given that cubs learn their hunting skills from their mother. So for some reason all these tigers have crossed the boundary between normal and abnormal/human prey.

Interesting to read that it isn't going to be lethally controlled but shot with tranquilizer darts and placed in a zoo.

It must be a strange and eerie experience to be a visitor and see these animals in a zoo and know that they have eaten human flesh.
I think that's their normal preocedure nowadays, to tranquilise and move a man-eater to a zoo. I think there may be several dotted round in Indian zoos as I have read about this sort of thing before. And yes, viewing man-eaters must be very unsettling.

Indeed, very unsettling, for the keepers who have to care for these cats too I would imagine.
