Why don't humans have eight legs?

My wife & I, and our dog, have 8 legs. Between us.

Humans have four limbs - the fact that we call our front limbs 'arms' does not mean they are not limbs. Do gibbons have two legs?

I like that an article on how "evolutionary history explains why humans walk on two legs" ends with paragraphs saying that nobody has a good answer for why humans walk on two legs....

I would describe Humans are medium to large terrestrial mammals, not small ones. On that note, many medium, large, and even the largest terrestrial mammals walk on four legs. I think four limbs count, though.

what the article is actually about is why arthropods ("small animals") have multiple legs and "large animals" (by which they appear to basically mean all land-based vertebrates) have four limbs.

Well I misread animals for mammals so just disregard my statement.:o

but still a mouse with eight legs would be pretty cool. Science should work on that next.
