Not sure if this has been mentioned on ZooChat yet (although I doubt it, since my search for Wild Animal Orphanage did not turn anything up).

The Wild Animal Orphanage is (or was) an exotic animal rescue shelter in San Antonio, Texas. When I visited San Antonio over ten years ago, I found out about it from a brochure in the visitor's center. I went to the location they had at the time, which is the smaller 7 acre location mentioned in the article. After that, they bought a second much larger property (around 100 acres).

Apparently, they have taken in too many animals to maintain and have been forced to shut down. It seemed like a decent facility from what I remember. The thing I remember most, which I have never seen anywhere else, was 8 or 10 pumas all living in the same enclosure.
