The Wild Animal Sanctuary is a rescue facility in Keenesburg, CO - with an additional sister facility in Boyd, TX, formerly known as International Exotic Animal Sanctuary. Over the years they've rescued many big cats (including 120 'Tiger King' tigers), bears and other wildlife.
On February 15th, 2023, the sanctuary announced they acquired a (1.0) generic tiger named Duke who was rescued from an illegal drug ring in New Mexico.
On April 29th, the sanctuary announced they acquired (1.6) African lions (the male is named Tsavo), (0.0.2) American black bears, and a (0.1) dromedary camel named Dasani from the Mayagüez Zoo in Puerto Rico.

The Lionesses names are Sarabi, Maya, Liba, Kenya, Chad and Malawi.
Tsavo and Kenya are parents to Saraba, Liba and Maya. Sarabi is mother to Chad and Malawi with the father/grandfather being Tsavo.

On May 5th, the sanctuary announced they acquired a (1.0) American black bear named Osi from Parque de las Ciencias Luis A. Ferre in Puerto Rico which arrived with the other animals from Mayagüez Zoo
On May 4th, it was reported the sanctuary acquired (0.0.2) American black bears (one of which will be renamed from a racial slur), (0.0.6) emus, and a (0.0.1) llama from the now-closed Waccatee Zoo in South Carolina.
On June 6th, the sanctuary announced they acquired a (0.0.1) common degu named Rocket and a (0.0.1) goldfish named Ted from the Mayagüez Zoo in Puerto Rico.*
On August 11th, the sanctuary announced they acquired a (0.1) American black bear named Henrietta (formerly known as Hank the Tank) from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.
On July 24th, the sanctuary announced they acquired 16 foxes (species(s) not specified) from an unspecified fur farm in Iowa in spring 2024 (Page 92-93).
On March 1st, 2025, the sanctuary announced they acquired a (1.0) domestic water buffalo named Brutus from a private owner in Colorado which is now in the alpaca/domestic cow/emu exhibit (Pages 12-15).
On November 21st, the sanctuary announced they acquired all of the animals at The Wild Animal Sanctuary (Texas) which are now split between the 2 facilities.
On November 28th, the sanctuary announced they acquired (1.1) generic tigers named Ray and Ella after they were dumped off at the facility's parking lot in an unmarked car.
On December 1st, the sanctuary announced they acquired 18 bears of 3 species ("pure" Syrian brown bear, European brown bear, and grizzly bear) from the now-closed HollyWild Animal Park in South Carolina which are located at The Wild Animal Refuge in Colorado (Pages 16-30).
On March 1st, 2025, the sanctuary announced they acquired (1.1) wolves (species not specified) named Akira and Hida as well as (1.2) wolf cubs named Farah, Kiba, and Kylo from a now-closed Grand River Fur Exchange in Ohio on January 23rd (Pages 24-37).
Also on March 1st, the sanctuary announced they acquired (3.1) African lions named Apolo, Hunter, Simba, and Nala, (1.1) jaguars named Balam and Bagheera (which is melanistic), (0.2) generic tigers named Corachi and Sheerkan, (0.2) bobcats named Luna and Rufla, and a (1.0) cougar named Pakal from the Invictus Foundation in Mexico after they were rescued from various situations.
