WildLeaks, an anonymous WikiLeaks style website designed to allow tip-offs of wildlife crime to be shared has attracted several serious leads. These leads from the first three months include elephant poaching in Africa and illicit ivory trading in Hong Kong, killing of Sumatran tigers, illegal hunting of lions and leopards, chimpanzee trafficking in Liberia, illegal fishing (with alleged mafia involvement) in Alaska, importing of illegal African products into the US and illegal logging in Mexico, Malawi and Siberia. From this information, at least three ivory-related investigations are already underway.
