Will there ever be an Australia Zoo franchise in Las Vegas?

Hi. I've been diving through the forum archive looking for recent news on the long proposed opening of an Australia Zoo franchise in las Vegas. It looked like there was some activity in the last couple years to move that along. Does anyone know if that is likely to ever happen?

I've found some recent news articles that the Australia Zoo may be in financial distress, but that seemed to be mostly based on the testimony of a recently fired employee.

Any information or thoughts people have are appreciated.

There was an article link here on ZooChat somewhere saying Australia Zoo is definitely in deep financial trouble and had to sell off most of the land they were going to expand to. So I doubt the Vegas deal will go through. (No loss in my opinion, although Las Vegas does need SOME type of zoo or family attraction for the poor families that live there. I lived there for four months and if you are not a gambler or partier, which I am not, there is literally nothing to do).
