Hey,

Is there any one who has done work experience at Taronga and can tell wat it was like, Is the program any good?
I got a work experience position there for march next year, I have been assigned to the Primates and Ungulates division!

Yeah, I had a great time at Taronga, I was on Carnovires and there were cubs there at the time was great fun, especially feeding the bears thier medicinal sandwiches.
 
i was in the bird department and had a BLAST! it was extraordinary working there. going to the zoo everyday for a week, for free is hardly called going to work though :D
 
You'll love it! I done the bird section and thoroughly enjoyed it, from condors to cassowaries and seeing how the bird show works :)
 
What's this work experience thing? What age do you have to be to apply? How long does it last for? What background do you need? Is it extremely competitive?
 
Work Experience - exactly what it says. School students in years 10 or 11 get to work with the keepers for a week or two, to see if the job is actually what they want, and to give them a taste of what it's like to join the workforce.

That sounds pretty sweet! I suspect that I am a wee bit too old to apply though. :(
