This footage was taken at the Wersut Seguni Indonesia (WSI) circus in Indonesia. The country is home to the world's last remaining travelling dolphin circuses. Over 72 bottlenose and stenella dolphins are kept in the most appalling of conditions to preform for audiences across the Indonesian island of Java. The animals are frequently hauled out of their plastic performing pools and loaded into the back of trucks along with other animals as the circuses move around. The transportation is so stressful for the animals that many of the dolphins die due to lack of proper care. We are asking your attention for the important dolphin circus campaign by the Jakarta Animal Aid Network (JAAN) in Indonesia and help put a stop to this incredible cruelty. After watching the video l am speechless, the suffering and mortality rate must be horrendous.

As if I needed more proof that Asia is the center of animal cruelty. Performing sun bear too, but the dolphin transport at the end is really too much.

The URL in the initial post was not a hotlink for some reason, but I was able to copy and paste it. I then copied and pasted all the emails of all the Indonesian officials listed and sent an email asking them to ban these circuses. (I composed my own letter instead of just copying the form letter on the website, as I feel this will be given more weight).

Let me try to paste the link here to see if it works as a hotlink:

Travelling dolphin circuses: time to end the cruelty
