Toronto Zoo Your Top Ten List

When I take family I usaually go when the zoo opens in the morning. Its too bad its later in the year but, if you do decide to skip something the Canadian Domain, or Eurasia is probably your best bet in my opinion, because thier are not very many animals there and if you are from Canada then this collection of animals in the Canadian domain could be cool to see but you may have already seen them. Other then that have fun and hopefully you can do the whole zoo you should be able to, cause I can do the whole zoo in the winter!

For me, the most special animals at the zoo are the ones that can only be seen in Toronto ...

1) South African fur seals (only ones in the western hemisphere)
2) Leadbeater's possum (we have one female left; she is off exhibit in the Health Unit, but she is the only one of her kind left in captivity)
3) Dhole (the only ones on display in North America)
4) Chamois (the only ones on display in North America)
5) West Caucasian tur
6) Barbary macaques (the only ones on display in North America)
7) White-headed vulture (one of two in North America)
8) Australian magpie (one of seven in North America)
9) Hairy-nosed wombat (one of seven in North America)
10) Renauld's ground cuckoo (one of two in North America)

The all-time most-special Toronto Zoo animal is "Albert", the only Liberian mongoose ever kept in captivity.
