Binturongs born at Zoo Atlanta

The newborns are the first offspring of Bramble and father Baloo and the first binturongs to be born at Zoo Atlanta.

First-time mom Bramble did not initially accept her offspring; however, two of the three have since successfully joined their mother and are nursing normally. It is hoped that the third bintlet will be able to join his mother and siblings in coming weeks.

Cocoa, 30, welcomed his baby with female Nutella, her first child. This is Cocoa's second offspring, according to the zoo.

Another female sloth, Bonnie, is expecting an infant in the coming weeks. It would be the sloth's third newborn.

On October 11th, the zoo announced the sloth's gender (0.1) and name, Olivia.

Binturongs born at Zoo Atlanta

The newborns are the first offspring of Bramble and father Baloo and the first binturongs to be born at Zoo Atlanta.

First-time mom Bramble did not initially accept her offspring; however, two of the three have since successfully joined their mother and are nursing normally. It is hoped that the third bintlet will be able to join his mother and siblings in coming weeks.

On November 7th, the zoo announced that the third bintlet had successfully reintegrated with its family. The zoo also announced the binturongs' genders (2.1), as well as the third binturong's name, Watson. The other male and female will be named by late November.

Also on November 7th, the zoo announced they acquired (2.0) western lowland gorillas named Kamoli and JJ temporarily from the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium in Ohio, and will be behind the scenes.
