Welcome to my second zoo review from my holiday in west france!
To start off i must say that this zoo was way above my expectations for a small city zoo!
The zoo has a well planned series of enclosures and islands along the main zoo route. Particular Highlights for me were;
Parrot Aviary, home to 6 or 7 different type of rare parrot where the zoo is hoping to breed them
Red panda enclosure, very well planted and we were told that the female had given birth just a few weeks ago!
Giraffe paddock was a bit bare but had lots of information about thier connection with niger where giraffes there are rare.
Tammar wallabies was one species i had never seen or heard of (which is unusual for me) i was interested to learn thwy are the smallest type of wallaby.
One of the rarest animals at the park was the atlas lion which had a small but well designed enclosure.
The monkey islands were well planted and i was shocked to see a pair of crested gibbons there, it seems that little zoos have little gems in them sometimes!
The zoo also had a great breeding record with over 20 penguins born in the last three years as well as the lions, tigers, parrots, red panda and spider monkey.
Overall rating would have to be 4.5/5!
