We visted the zoo on Friday and discovered:

1) Tigers Fabi and Kirana were out togethar for the first time. Fabi wandered round and Kirana hid under a bush although a keeper told us she's been getting less shy recently.

2) The keepers are going to try training the Livingstone bats as they are getting overweight and don't fly much. They are also hoping to get female Livingstones.

3) There are 3 new arroanas in the pool in the Twilight Zone. One is called George and one is called Dweeb.

4) The keepers don't think any of the elephants are pregnant. Birma is going to be moved to a smaller collection of elephants with a younger male :( The end of Jangoli's tail has fallen off - the keepers don't know how it was injured.

5)We saw something we'd never seen before - Two gibbons and two baby orangutans playing together  Then an adult orangutan (Emma I think) came up and seemed to tell one of the young orangutans (Utara I think) "not to play with the white apes"! :D

It great when they play together esp when the gibbons are moving fast around RoRA becasue the young orangs have no chance of catching them :p

Very pleased to see both Tigers are now mixed together and that Kirana is getting more confident.

Do you mean Birma is going together with a young male from Chester, (or she is going to a collection with a younger male) I'm presuming its the former?

The lower part of Jangoli's tail has always stuck out almost at right angles, presumably from an injury in her earlier (pre Chester) life so it would have been susceptable to further injury or being snapped off. I guess this has happened and she now has a half a tail?
