Zoo Park Maps

Hi does anyone know if there is anywhere you can find up to date park maps for Zoo's.

For some odd reason, a lot of zoo's don't display them on their website and I often like to map out a plan before I go.

I found a website online called zoomaps.co.uk but the links on the website don't work so it's impossible to navigate. Any help would be great.

I would recommend to email the zoos directly to request the maps. Not UK I know, but on the website for Bassin D’Arcachon there is only an outdated map which shows the zoo prior to the construction of the new sun bear enclosure; I wanted to find out whereabouts it was - so I asked, and I got!

the reason is given at the bottom of the page "Links have been temporarily removed pending a large website update."

I find it a little annoying when zoos have interactive maps on their websites as I like to print them off to draw on my route around before visiting. However, aside from some small places where a map is not really required, I don't recall having much of a problem finding maps on websites.

I have more problems with rubbish maps (yes, Twycross, I am looking at you back when you thought it a great idea to not label any animals on your map - thank goodness they changed their mind on that.)

I like to look at zoo maps before I go so I have a rough idea of the layout of the zoo, the main exhibits and the facilities on site, but I never plan a route or follow the map while I’m there. I like to be genuinely surprised by what is around every corner, for me that’s a real part of the excitement of visiting a new place. For me, the map only serves a purpose if I get lost or if I want to revisit a particular species after I’ve already done the rounds once and can’t remember where I’m heading. Although if there is a talk on that I really want to see, sometimes I will use the map to head straight there.

I have a dire sense of direction combined with paranoia that I might miss something I really want to see :D With small places, though, I don't tend to use the maps (and it seems that the smaller places are somewhat less likely to have a map on their website) as you can wander around as many times as you like to see everything.

I have a great sense of direction, but I did manage to get lost in Lakeland Wildlife Oasis. The owner was very impressed, most of it is built in a straight line :p

Searching '[zoo name] map PDF' on Google will typically return the direct link to the zoo website' so downloadable map within the top three or four results.

Thanks @Chlidonias .
zoomaps.co.uk is my site, but I was warned a few times about copyright issues, so I ended up removing links from the main page until I could get individual permissions to share the documents. Work, exams and life in general then got too busy for me to get the chance to revisit the project, although links in other parts of the site are still fully functional. So if you can get to the 'Asia' page, for instance, you should find that it still works normally.
