Black-eared Tamarin / Saguinus niger
Is this supposed to be Black-tufted Marmoset C. penicillata?

Do they still have the Rousettus bats in the walk-through aviary? I think it was the one signed for Island Flying Foxes, but the rousettes were in the roof of the visitor path (and unsigned).

I'm surprised how lax the zoo is with removing past animals from the map (and with removing old signs from cages!). The Red Hartebeest and Banded Linsang, for example, died about ten years ago.

Thank you for your comment.

Sorry, you are right. It is Callithrix penicillata, though it is signed as "Black-eared Marmoset / Callithrix penicillata".

I have recently talked with the curator there regarding bats, and the only species they have now is the Large Flying Fox / Pteropus vampyrus in the walk-through aviary along with Milky Storks and other birds.

Yes, that is true. The map at the entrance and route signs in the zoo both have Red Hartebeest, and seems to be very out of date.

Hi

I visited the night safari last week and looked more closer into the walk through aviaries.
I found a dozen small bats, probably Rousettus bats. They are unsigned but still there.

One interesting thing is that the staff say they don't have them. They might be misunderstanding something or it's a temporary exhibit.
