To help a friend with a project, I'm hoping that someone on here will be able to provide a list of all known bachelor Gorilla groupings - if not all, just the European ones would be perfect!

I know Paignton, Longleat, Port Lympne, Loro Parque, and Disney... any that you folks could add to the list would be greatly appreciated.

thanks, TNT

Beside the ones you mentioned - according to 'Zootierliste' I found the following other European zoos with bachelor groups:

Pairi Daiza - Belgium
Amneville - France
La Boissière du Doré - France
Safaripark Beekse Bergen - Netherlands
Rhenen - Netherlands
Zoo Schmiding (Krenglbach) - Austria
Warszawa - Poland
Bioparc Valencia - Spain

There are currently two bachelor groups in the Australasian region.

Werribee Open Range Zoo:

Motoba (23/12/1983)
Yakini (28/11/1999)
Ganyeka (29/04/2000)

Motoba is the father of Yakini and Ganyeka

Orana Wildlife Park:

Fataki (24/05/2003)
Fuzu (08/12/2007)
Mahale (18/08/2008)

Fataki and Fuzu are brothers; Mahale is their half brother

The other three holding zoos in the region (Taronga, Melbourne and Mogo) have breeding groups.
