Wow, that's a very big list.
Will update my list and get back for more information later on!!!

Hi there was an Elephant shown arriving at Bideford Zoo ... Although the Zoo was officially listed as closed in early 1970 I have seen reports that the Zoo changed hands and continued to run until 1972 .... but has anyone any idea who ran the zoo until then ?

This "baby elephant" was mentioned in the Nov/Dec 1972 issue of the National Zoological Society's newsletter. I'd love to know when Bideford actually closed.

My aim is to try and find out what happened here... I have a few lines of enquiry going on and one day I will make a breakthrough.... sounds like a detective sleuth.... I know there is an archive held in Bideford Library and when I am next off from work on a weekday I am going to take a trip up there to see what is in the archive....My only other port of call is the local Bideford archive newspapers and as I am less than an hour away from Bideford that is another trek I need to make... after all what better way to pass a day or two than to read old newspapers one after another.... I mean how hard can it be ...lol
