Zootierliste former species london

As a former keeper from a number of collections, still in animal field but native species..
Discovered the whole zoo search option on zootierliste. Going through london former species..have seen some on list through busman holiday zoo tours or behind the scenes tours but amazing species, like Christmas..sad part is some no longer with us..falklands wolf, japanese wolf..some still with us but not in zoos..I.e. Ethiopian wolf..
Have a case full of guide books and lists/papers but loving this page and zootierliste..havent got to end of mammals yet..shame they dont do inverts ( one of my fields)..but herps im looking forward to!!

Thank you for posting this interesting list - it is always fascinating to hear about how many species have been kept at the zoo over its history.

I don't think that London Zoo has ever kept African manatee, though. ZTL lists that they were kept in the 1870s, but the only manatee at the zoo during this period (which lived for a little over a month in 1875) was a West Indian one (then listed as Manatus australis, a synonym of Trichechus manatus).
