What about the elephants? A big part of why I'm going is to see African Elephant Crossing. How about zebras and lions?

Elephants will certainly be visible, though they may be confined to their indoor quarters (where you can also see the naked mole-rats and the python). The birds in the small aviary are probably already off exhibit (though I'm not sure), and I'm not sure about the meerkats.

Lions will probably have access to the outside as long as it isn't too cold. Zebras are questionable - usually I've had little luck seeing anything outside other than giraffe once winter hits (I'm not sure when the animals are usually taken in for the winter).

If you want to be sure about what you might be able to see, I'd attempt to contact someone at the zoo itself. From my past experience, Cleveland is a good zoo as far as northern zoos go in the off-season, but there are large areas (in terms of land covered) where little can be seen outside. However, some of the best areas of the zoo (notably the wolf and the new Siberian tiger exhibits) are great year-round, and most of the marquee species can be seen (although sometimes in rather uninspired indoor quarters).
