My first day of birding in 2017 is also a fact, with a tiny bird that didn't feel like showing itself last year.

Went to Zlin Zoo today (Czech Republic) and saw a few common species on the drive there from Brno as well as wild in the zoo.

I'm back home for just a couple of days and have lots to do, so trying to cram in a bit of birdwatching when I have some free time before I go back to Christmas Island. I'm picking locations where I can get some diversity, but was really surprised at some species I got today at Irrawong Reserve. Plus some of them were with chicks or in nests.

I went chasing a vagrant Sabine's Gull yesterday, but did not have success. I did add a few birds to the year list however, including a vagrant Common Goldeneye, a bird I saw frequently in Idaho, but in central Florida is quite rare.
