ZooChat Challenge UK 2017

I note it says 'mandatory' reporting after 4 collections, so as someone has posted I'll declare mine:
1 Colchester 1/1/17
2 Linton 2/1/17

Sure someone has done better already though!
 
Don't look at me only done 1 place so far and nothing planned till the end of the month!In fact I will probably not even take part this year.

You know where I was looking though!! Even if you're behind, we'll all have to be looking over our shoulder I'm sure! You might do 4 in a day!
 
For a bit of fun I thought I would work out how many of these collections I have visited before, and found that I have managed to reach a total of 17 collections:

Bristol Zoo
ZSL London
Edinburgh Zoo
Paignton Zoo
Chester Zoo
ZSL Whipsnade
Dudley Zoo
WWT Slimbridge
Birdland
Flamingoland
Colchester Zoo
Twycross Zoo
Welsh Mountain Zoo
Shaldon Zoo
Hawk Conservancy
Linton Zoo
Newquay Zoo

I certainly won't be winning the challenge, so my target this year is to visit more eligible collections than I managed in 2016; as I only managed to visit Edinburgh, Paignton and Chester last year, this will hopefully be a reasonably easy challenge :p with only four collections required to hit my target!

My secondary target will be to visit at least one collection I have never reached before.
 
Looking forward to taking part in this challenge and seeing how many collections I can visit during 2017. Enjoyed the day at Chester Zoo today. It was lovely to see the elephant and giraffe calves of course, but the trip will always be remembered for seeing the ever elusive Andean Bear perched at the top of a tree looking out over at the Capybara.

I've only ever made it to 15 of those, but it's a number which should be bigger (even if only slightly) by the end of the year.
 
For anyone wanting to add Chessington to their list, they have Zoo only tickets over the next few weekends.
Great price in comparison to what you normally have to pay for entry.

Enjoyed a quick visit to Twycross today. It was bitterly cold and the vast majority of the glass enclosure windows were frozen over making viewing difficult. Due to the freezing conditions, the Elephants were locked in doors giving us a good opportunity to see the herd including 34 month old Esha up close.

Right now that I have visited 4 places,on the list I will post my total as requested by Shorts in his rules!

1) Chester Zoo
2) Twycross Zoo
3) Bristol Zoo
4) Flamingoland

These were all planned visits and not purpose trips as will any other collections that I post on here.

Thanks to the izes collectors fair at Ventura my total is now 5,

5) Paradise Wildlife Park

That will probably be it till the end of next month.
