I guess whatever it is, it hopefully won't be long now before they are in the enclosure... ;)
 
Last August I was told that the enclosure was being prepared for Lynx. But to not quote him on it, haha.
 
The work that is currently going on in islands, does that include a new Komodo enclosure?
 
If they do build a new komodo house within islands, would make sense for it to be the last part of the jigsaw as the site it was originally planned to go in, is currently used as the site office for the construction work currently taking place.
 
Visited today and was told that the carnivore team are working on the enclosure (Cassowary old) and it's still quite a distance away from finished and species was revealed but along with others will not let on but definitely not lynx.
More updates and images are on my b--g which I can't advertise on here as I was told by a Moderator 2 years ago now sorry.
All I will say is I enjoyed it and saw some of the rarer to see species as the collection was pretty quite for time of year by this I mean the last few times I have been just after half term on a Saturday in March it's always been very busy.

Who told you? If you were told this as a member of the public then there is no reason to keep it private.

A question for anyone: Is the former serval enclosure going to hold cheetahs long-term, or will that also get something shiny and new?

And of course there is the also-as-yet-unannounced species that will be replacing the sun bears in Spirit of the Jaguar...

Doesn't matter who told him what,because I am willing to bet if it was zoo staff they were having a laugh,by telling a pack of lies to see just how long it was before it was posted on here!

Sorry but has anyone said that a new species is going to replace the Sun Bears when they move over to Island,I know I haven't.Ever thought that they are going to house Jaguars in both sides again once the Sun Bears move!!!!

Staff deliberately misinforming members of the public who are passionate about the zoo is unprofessional and a terrible way to generate goodwill amongst supporters. I hope this does not happen and if it does I hope it is made to stop.

It happens at more than just Chester,I know that it has happened at another place that this user has visited as the staff told me they did as they knew anything they said would end of on here!While I agree its not good if people think its okay to post everything they are told on here,then I am sorry we get what we asked for no trust and no respect from the zoo world!

It could be but its not.

Its Chester of course plans will have changed!
 
I'm new here, so hi. I'm a regular visitor and member of Chester so I have a few questions which have been bugging me. I hope you don't mind me asking!

What happened to the Servals and the round enclosure near the Giant Anteaters?
When the Sun Bears and Binturongs move to Islands, who will take their place?
How will the Sloths get to the outside area?
What is going on with the aviarys near Spirit of the Jaguar, the Chimps and Realm of the Red Ape?

The female Serval moved to London. The aviarys will be home to some Asian bird species. There will be a rope going down from the indoor to the outdoor which the Sloths will climb down.
