Haugaland zoo is a zoo that is sadly unknown for most people. The park don't get financial support by anyone, and it doesn't even have the permission to have a sign on the main road. However, the zoo is really nice. Being small in space, is not the same as tiny exhibits. There are fewer animals, on bigger space. Many of the nabors, do not know that they live next to a clouded leopard, scimitar oryxes and lots of snakes. Not mentioning the future tropical house, with Brazil as the theme. Here are a video (sorry for the shaking, it was me that filmed) of the zoo:

From what I can see on the video, this seems to be a really nice little zoo, thanks for making and sharing the video Smannsaker !
 
There is a zoo in Haugesund? With clouded leopards and marabou storks? How long has it been open? I have yet to check it out - even though I live around 2 hours away (which is not that far in Norawy).
 
Haugaland zoo opened for the first time in summer 2010. This zoo is only open during the summer, and will most likely open in the end of May this year.
 
This list was from last year, and the zoo does not open until the end of May, so the short answer is: I don't know. I'll not be able to check until 22th to 24th of May, when I will have some days volunteering there. Then I will give you an update.
 
They have all the animals on the list, in addition to those, they also now have sitatunga(maybe, they'll at least get some) and wild turkey

Banded mongoose indeed. (I have a version with the animal names, but they are in Norwegian)

Being Danish, I should be capable of reading most animal names in Norwegian, so it'd be cool if you posted it. (I like looking at zoo maps, even for places I'm probably not going to visit in a near future)
 
I think almost all the names are fairly translatable when combined with the silhouette picture, even for people who don't know Norwegian.

Sabeloryx I wouldn't be clear on because it combines "sable" and "oryx" - I'm guessing Gemsbok from the silhouette? Flodsvin would be impossible for me without the Capybara silhouette - does it translate literally as "water pig"?

A "sabeloryx" is a scimitar-horned oryx (you know, a scimitar is a kind of sabre), and "flodsvin" literally means "river pig".

(Those two have the same names in Danish - the only name diverging much from Danish is "båndmungo" for "banded mongoose" as we call them "zebramangust" - also, I guess you can say "reptiler" in Danish, but it sounds very Danglish, and the most scientifically correct word would be "krybdyr")
 
What is "treleopard"? No listing on ZTL so I'm curious about the species/subspecies.
