After two weeks of rehabilitation, a bald eagle has been rereleased. The bird had facial injuries and a treble hook stuck in its chest that was removed.

The Zoo will soon see the return of hippos - but only temporarily. Females Kasai and Zambezi will be living at Dickerson Park while a new habitat is built for them back at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.

Ah this is what was being constructed. It was a major inconvenience to get around that zoo without the boardwalk when I went.

The former bald eagle exhibit has been renovated into a mixed-species exhibit featuring king vultures and saki monkeys. This makes Dickerson Park the very first AZA Zoo to attempt this mix.
