Barbets in captivity

Following suit on our previous threads (Birds of Paradise in captivity, Cotingas in captivity), @Vision and I have been working on a list for another family of wonderful birds in captivity, namely Barbets.

A couple thoughts beforehand:
1) Because we had to draw the line somewhere, we decided to use no information older than 5 years (so only things posted from 2012 onwards) upon making this list; we did this to keep the list as accurate and up-to-date as possible.
2) To make this list we used information from zootierliste, zoochat, visits to the respective zoos, and occasionally other sources (facebook pages of the collections, visits of friends to the respective zoos, etc.)
3) There are bound to be many more barbets in less-visited collections, but it is very hard to find a lot of information about them online.
4) Anyone is more than welcome to mention things that need to be altered/updated on this list!

Thanks GerbenElzinga and Vision to take the trouble to find out the current status of this very intresting group ! Would also be intresting to research ( like TLD did in his "lost species-thread" )
from which species we have photos in the Gallery and also some historical notes - like species kept in the past and past breeding-results ( where was the world-first-breeding - or European / American and so on - archieved and when and eventually also notes on the species kept / bred in private aviculture would make this thread even more intresting :).
 
@vogelcommando, that would certainly be interesting! However, making such a list for species that are held right now is already loads of work, and I can only imagine how much work it would be to do research about the 'lost' species as well. Maybe in the future, who knows :P

I know its really a lot of work - I've done several such threads myself but I don't mean you ( and/or Vision ) have to do it but if other ZooChatters can provide us with all kind of other "barbet-information " this thread could become a real information-source for all people intrested in these great birds !
 
Pata hold Asiatic barbet (Psilopogon asiaticus davisoni), Coppersmith barbet (P. haemacephalus) and Golden-throated barbet (P. franklinii franklinii).

Khao Kheow had signs for lineated, green-eared, red-crowned and gold-whiskered barbets in the giant walkthrough aviary when I visited in 2013. I only saw lineated and couldn't fully convince myself that any of the other flashes of green were barbets.

The bearded barbet (certainly the most commonly kept barbet in the world) is not Lybius melanopterus, but Lybius dubius ;-)

I guess you are wrong Kakapo - not with the scientific name but which species is the most commonly kept, I'm quite sure the Red-and-yellow barbet is even more commonly kept ;).
 
Maybe you're right, I was jugdind just by my experience. I've seen red-and-yellow just once, and the bearded in three different zoos :)

Double-checked it and it's not as clear as I had thought but even so ( at least in Europe ) the Red-and-yellow barbet is kept in 1 more collection as is the Bearded ( 36 against 35 ) - Zootierliste.
 
I visited San Diego Zoo and WAP at the start of this year, but only saw or saw signage for two of the five species mentioned for San Diego on that list. I saw Bearded Barbet at both, and Black-spotted Barbet in Parker Aviary at the zoo.
Fire-tufted Barbet, Yellow-rumped Tinkerbird, and Double-toothed Barbet I did not see anywhere nor did I see them signed. It is quite possible they still have them and I just missed them.
