Toledo Zoo Toledo Zoo & Aquarium News 2017

The zoo updated the page on their website that contains the map, but they still haven't updated the map yet. I think it will be soon that they make the new map however.

I hope so. It is unusually late this year. After the Aviary mystery, I wonder if there is something not announced yet. Several vacant area when I was last there a month ago include the pelican exhibit and Keet Retreat. The main entrance to Kingdom of the Apes was blocked off as was the outdoor exhibit in the front and the indoor exhibit across the hallway from it.

Went to the Toledo Zoo today, and apparently their kiwis are on exhibit along with a kookaburra and some other bird species I forget. I didn't see it anywhere however :/

I think in the next 10 years the zoo will be extremely busy with construction. The Museum is already under construction, now the tunnel and soon one of the domes (the zoo already has who is building the domes). I am very excited on what the next decade holds and I believe that the Toledo Zoo has the potential to be the best over San Diego, Omaha, Columbus and others if the renovations turn out to be what they are planning.

The zoo sent me a PDF of the map. There are some minor changes. Nothing major. Museum of Science will reopen in early 2019. Pelicans symbol is not longer on the former penguin exhibit. A sloth symbol and a koala symbol have been added to the Aviary. There are also dots representing the Oceania Conservation Walking Tour locations. The wildflower area between both sides of Anthony Wayne Trail is now called Wild Toledo Prairie. Hellbender Pod is on the map behind the Reptile Building. Bat symbol has been removed from Nature's Neighborhood. The Beastro is not on the map. It was not open when I was there. Sea turtle symbol added to the Aquarium. Aquarium Adventure Trail is now Aquarium Splash Pad. Sloth bear symbol has been removed. Sloth bear has also been removed from the description for Tiger Terrace. Nairobi Pavilion has been renamed Malawi Event Center. I think that covers most of the changes. Region list has been copies below.
