San Diego Zoo San Diego Zoo News 2017

Is the honey badger part of the Madagascan Forest or the African Woods? I was assuming it would be the woods but everywhere seems to be advertising them as part of the Madagascar section. (And unless I've been sorely mistaken the past 17 years, they don't live there...right?)
I thought similarly, but it looks as if they will be on exhibit tomorrow in the Madagascar portion

I've been following these developments for a while and have just noticed that Madagascar has four species, two lemurs, fossa and ratel. Overlooking the latter, that's still only three species for a zone that was due to hold up to five(?) species of lemur alone. I know the Aye-aye was phased out but that still leaves two species.

Have the other species been dropped or are they just not listed?

There should also be 3 other lemur species. Red ruffed, red collared and blue eyed black lemurs.

Also, I wonder with the kopje now "open" even though the area has been for a while is it referring to the new kopje garden that's being added?

I thought on tour meant like they are giving previews to people who pay extra, my bad

This 'on tour' thing is bugging me. They aren't supporting Maroon 5 so let's just say they are open.
I think "touring" a zoo must be a North American expression. I see it on here quite a bit (although I did think it had been started by @snowleopard). However, for San Diego that is specifically how they are phrasing it. If you check the links given earlier (e.g. Madagascar Forest | Africa Rocks) the promotional material seems to be deliberately evoking 70s Beatles and "bands on tour". It's a bit weird.

(re: honey badger in Madagscar)...
Well they put leopard sharks from the USA coast in the South African penguin exhibit and they are putting Amur leopards from Russia in the African woodlands exhibit, so clearly geographic integrity is not important even for the mighty San Diego Zoo.

It looks as if only the ring-tailed lemurs are on exhibit today. the other 4 will be on exhibit in some weeks. The fossa and ratel are also out today.
