I am a bout to book a trip to the Isle Of Wight for early 2018 based in Sandown are their any collections I should consider visiting now matter how small they are I would like to hear what people on here think?

Isle of Wight Zoo is largely big cat rescue with a few primates. Well worth a visit with some good enclosures and plenty of enrichment.
Very varied collection with a few rarities is Amazon World, not purely South American, despite the name. Again not to be missed.
One or two other collections on the Island I believe?
Monkey Haven is also a must-visit collection in my opinion - it is constantly expanding and holds a fair few species which are very rare in European collections.
My user name is in honour of a beautiful tiger with a big character at Isle of Wight zoo - give her a wave from me - so obviously I would recommend going there!
Otherwise we enjoyed Amazon World, Butterfly World, and the Monkey Haven. We also went to the Owl & Falconry centre at Appuldurcombe House which had some BOP demonstrations.
I've not been myself but there is a newish reptilarium which looks like it could happily fill a couple of hours. Depending on your interests I'd also recommend Dinosaur Isle.

Butterfly World seems to be seasonal - so if you're going before about April next year it probably won't be open Butterfly World Isle of Wight – Tourist attraction offering butterflies, fountains, koi ponds, and Italian and Japanese gardens, also with cafe, and garden centre.
I haven't been since the early 1990s, so can't tell you what it's like now, I'm afraid. It's very near the Monkey Haven, though, so if you're there at the right time of year it's probably worth a visit.
The only experience I have of the falconry is going to a display they did at Appuldurcombe House in the mid - late '90s. This was the website I found Falconry | The Isle of Wight Owl and Falconry Centre | Appuldurcombe | Isle of Wight the house itself is managed by English Heritage and is worth a visit if you're interested in historical buildings. As with Butterfly World, the house and falconry are only open from April to October.
