Temnick's Trapogan moved out of the collection, an unknown bird species is set to replace them (Capercaillie please?)
Two pairs of capercaillie have recently arrived at Highland Wildlife Park.
The intention is to breed the birds so that young can be available to augment existing wild populations of capercaillie in Scotland, which are in decline again.

Not sure if it's known but there is no longer Beavers at HWP. They were released into the wild a couple of months ago. They are hoping to get a new pair soon.
Out of interest, where abouts on the site is the off show Amur Leopard? Is it at the back of the female Polar Bear section as the picture on the BBC shows that Green fence, but the only place I could see that at the park was behind the Female Polar Bear section, so just intrigued tbh.
