Maybe we crossed paths in the city! The brown bears and baboons begging for food was pretty sad, people were just completely ignoring the signs.

I had to get a little bit stern with ****** trying to feed crisps to the sun bears.

I spent 25th and 26th at the zoo - it was my first zoo Christmas!

I hope you do get to visit, it's on a different level to any other zoo I've been to.

I think it’s a mark of your excellent filming and editing that you make all of the zoos on which you report look so good - this one included. I like Pairi Daiza very much, but think it is deeply flawed; in your film, it looks great! And you have the gift of catching elusive animals out and about and active: when I see Giant Pandas, they’re fast asleep or, at best, eating in a corner. You capture them completing Olga Korbut style gymnastics routines. And you get the lemmings looking lively too!

We do seem to get lucky and catch animals at the right time, especially in a place like Pairi Daiza where you're lucky to visit the same exhibit more than once. Smaller places just take patience, but the bigger zoos take a large amount of luck! I'm sure karma will catch up with me eventually and I'll just have a video of sleeping or hiding animals! :-)
 
Been busy the last couple of weeks, but have finally finished the second leg of our Valencia trip - Oceanografic. Was great to see Beluga whales and walrus for the first time. I'm gutted though, as I seemed to have lost over 100 video clips from this visit, which included our behind the scenes tour. Still, I had enough to put a video together :-)

 
Our 67th trip was to Lincolnshire Wildlife Park, formerly the Parrot Zoo. Didn't see the puma or leopard on our visit, and most of the tigers weren't visible either.

 
Interesting. What did you think of it there? The number of tigers appeals to me, but it's a blooming long way away from where I live.

It was OK, lots of parrots (Lots of macaws and African grey parrots in particular) and few mammals. Unfortunately didn't see the leopard or puma on our visit. They have 11 tigers, and a big outdoor enclosure. However, it looks as though only one gets let out at a time, so most aren't easily visible unless you have an experience (which we didn't for a change!). It's a 2-3 hour visit, so would be a long way to come.
