If You Had a Time Machine...

I would tell the most experienced and best facilities in cetacean breeding (dolfinarium Harderwijk, etc...) to capture various pods of Vaquitas and start a breeding program that allows a healthy worldwide population before it became critically endangered in the wild... And same for baiji, Irrawwady dolphin and any other endangered or now extinct odontocete
How many vaquitas can fit in a telephone box sized machine considering that you are also in the machine.

I didn't said that I would bring vaquitas with me, I just said that the best dolfinariums would be adviced about capture vaquita pods before it become practically extinct.

I would do the same with the Baiji.

It was Qi Qi.

Whoops! I have a book on Baiji Dolphins (well it’s on Cetaceans in general, but a large chunk is devoted to Baiji), and I remember it saying that his name was pronounced Chee-Chee, but I didn’t have the book on me, and so I took a bit of a guess.

I’m pretty sure they did capture some Baiji, with one dolphin living 22 years in captivity (I think his name was Xi Xi).

If they had capture more than "some" (a founder population enough for start a breeding captive group enough diverse genetically), then today we would have Baiji alive...
