Please tell me which species have been mixed with hamerkop. I vaguely remember a enclosure with hamerkop and another species of bird, but please let me know!

Do you mean hamerkops? My impression is that they're kept in mixed-species exhibits more often than not, usually with other (African) wading birds.

I got them from zootierliste that says they are hammerheads. Ive put more research to find them to be named hamerkops indeed. With african wading birds, do you mean sacret ibis and spoonbills?

Well, at the Toronto Zoo, hamerkops are mixed with other birds from Africa, notably violet turacos and red-billed hornbills.

The ones at Jersey are in a Madagascar walkthrough, sharing over the years with Namaqua and Madagascar Turtledoves, Fodies, Madagascar Crested Ibis, Black-winged Stilts and ducks.

Fair enough, hamerkop is just the English name I've learned, but in my own language they're also called hammerheads ("hammerhoved").

Yes, I mean sacred ibis and spoonbills among others.

On top of my head:

Copenhagen Zoo: Smallish African birds such as superb starling and African pygmy goose.

Odense Zoo: Greater flamingo, cattle egret, African spoonbill, pink-backed pelican, yellow-billed stork, Abdim's stork, hottentot teal.

Randers Regnskov: Various African rainforest birds as well as lemurs and a few ectotherms.

Parc Merveilleux: Malagasy birds (Madagascar fody, Meller's duck, Bernier's teal, Madagascar turtle dove etc.)

Dresden Zoo: Sacred ibis, yellow-billed stork, African spoonbill, cattle egret, cape teal, comb duck.

My first hammerkop sight was at London Zoo in African Aviary. Mixed with african jacanas, Abdim's stork, lilac-breasted rollers, superb starlings, von der Decken's hornbills, Hartlaub's turacos and, notably, black-necked stilts and scarlet ibis (both American).

I didn't paid much attention to hammerkops before that, as they're common in zoos. I remember in Prague zoo mixed with other African aquatic birds, and if I remember well, in Berlin tierpark they have in the stork aviary with saddle-billed stork, African openbill, Abdim's stork, yellow-billed stork and Hadada ibis.

I seem to recall seeing hamerkops in Rotterdam Zoo's large walkthrough aviary for primarily carnivorous birds, alongside four species of vulture, Southern ground hornbill, marabou stork, crowned crane and black kite.

Hamerkop is Afrikaans, and means "hammer head". You quite often see it (incorrectly) spelled "hammerkop" in English. But they are also called Hammerheads or Hammerhead Storks, and other similar names.
