Weltvogelpark Walsrode news from Walsrode 2018

New in 2018 : walk-through aviary for "toucans"( on the video only arasaris could be seen ) in which the visitors can feed the birds ( with food provided by the keepers ). On the video the birds are still being trained to take food from the hand :

The toucan feeding is a real highlight, the aracari and toucanet that were used were very friendly and especially having a Curl-crested aracari on your hand is a real highlight. The Toucan collection on show was very handsome anyway with about 10 species on show, several of which currently only held by Walsrode.

The bird collection seems to have improved over the past years and it is telling that there are over five aviaries in the park where one can see Blue coua, Crested coua, Spangled cotinga, Red-billed curassow and close to ten with Madagascar blue pigeon. Some of the rarities currently include Red-breasted malkoha, Cuckoo roller, Black-faced spoonbill, White-rumped trumpeter, Horned guan and many many more.... Off-show currently are the Sickle-billed vanga, Storm's stork and the Ground cuckoo. Currently there are 3 Birds of Paradise on show: Raggiana, King and Twelve-wired.

Are the Horned Guan actually on-show on-show, or still not really on-show but can be seen from the path?

Does Bronx still have?

Bronx has been breeding them pretty successfully, as have been the only zoo to do so from what I know. They had 19 last year and sent away some of the offspring to San Diego, Tulsa & Houston. (1,1) were sent to each and with these 4 that means Bronx likely still has 9/10 given recent births.

According to zootierliste they recieved 2,2 Maleo from Bronx Zoo back in May.

On-show as well now in the pheasantry, but unsigned. :D
They also have another white-throated kingfisher (Halcyon smyrnensis) on-show in an aviary in the regenwaldhalle now... Not sure if it's a new animal, or the animal that was present in 2014 and has just gone on-show again? The lesser adjutant is also on-show again, but still no sign of the coral-billed ground-cuckoos...

Apparently, the park have a new owner, the Spanish company Parques Reunidos: Spanischer Betreiber will Vogelpark Walsrode
I don´t speak German and the online translation is a bit confusing, but if I understand correctly, the sale is already done? I´m a bit worried about the future of the Weltvogelpark.
