After ending a very close and controversial match tied, these two zoos go head to head once again with a new category, birds. Brookfield has an excellent tropical South American aviary, another south American aviary that's smaller, the kopje with several bird species free flight and the Peru exhibit with penguins as the stars. Miami however, as the simply superb Wings of Asia walkthrough aviary, something that Brookfield sorely lacks. There are also dozens of outdoor bird exhibit around the grounds, while Brookfield's are almost exclusively indoor.

And that wraps up the first round. No matches the next three days as we wait for this one to finish. I'll post a round one recap on the main thread the day before round two starts.

I remember the Wings of Asia exhibit being superb, so Miami gets my vote for now. Does anyone have photos of Brookfield’s South American aviary?

The gigantic Wings of Asia aviary at Zoo Miami is one of the greatest walk-through aviaries I've ever visited and that alone gives Miami the win in this category.

That aviary looks really nice, but I think that I’m still sticking with Miami. Wings of Asia is simply amazing!
