Toledo Zoo Toledo Zoo and Aquarium News 2018

Thank you:) I panicked a little when I didn't see it the first time around, and I wasn't going to leave the zoo until I got that footage. Not even a bird and it was my number priority in a bird house.

I was recently at Tulsa Zoo and their lowland paca was curled up in a log, barely visible.

Episode 38: The Toledo Zoo Aquarium

This world beneath the waves has been argued as the greatest of its kind - The Aquarium at the Toledo Zoo. This historic building dates far back to 1939, built through the Works Progress Administration. Originally housing only freshwater fish, more exotic marine life was added throughout time, and by 2012, the number of animals housed more than tripled. After 73 years of inspiring guests, the Aquarium was in need of a major upgrade, and the building was closed in 2012 for renovation. The exterior still appears as it was in the late '30's but within the 30,000 square foot space, everything you'll see in new. The water volume of the exhibits incresed from 46,000 to 178,000 gallons to accommodate 3,700 animals of 200 species displayed in over 30 exhibits. With completely updated style, every habitat is attempt to reflect its residents' natural worlds. Only two hallways make up this attraction, but this is a instance of diversity prompting inspiration. Discover the deep blue, the flooded forests of the Amazon, sharks of the Indo-Pacific and so much more at the Historic Aquarium at the Toledo Zoo.

Thank you for another Zoo Tour! I think you like this facility better than I do, for having been a recent rehabilitation I found the detailing in many of the exhibits to be lacking.

From Toledo’s Facebook:

Save a species...put back a pint for pandas!

A portion of proceeds from each beer sold at the Beastro during Luminous Nights will go toward our new red panda breeding facility!

It truly is a cup for a cause!
