NAC (National Aquarium cup)

Hmm, I think maybe if @ZooBinh is okay with this categorization this could work. If we list all aquariums that we want to participate in the competition, we make sure that the pairing has a common category (So Georgia can’t go against Seattle with dolphins and etc). If we find a way to do this, then maybe this categorization could work...

Sharks, Rays, and other cartilage fishes

Tropical, coral reef fishes

Native, cold water fishes (Kelp forest
fish, fish that live near the aquarium in the wild, etc)

Freshwater fish (Only if both aquariums apply)

Cephalopods

Jellies

Other inverts (Crustaceans, coral polyps, etc)

Cetaceans (Only If apply)

Other marine mammals (Seals, Sea lions, otters, manatees, etc)(Only If apply)

Birds (seabirds, penguins, etc) (Only If apply)

Sea turtles (Only If apply) (I believe this is the only aquatic herp in aquariums so unless something changes this is the only animal that apply to this category)

Land dwelling animals (Anything that lives on land and keeps away from the ocean) (Only If apply)

If the category says only If apply, that means both facilities need to have said category in their facilitiy to qualify for the match.

There are no marine snakes in USA aquariums? For freshwater species there are many more categories: aquatic snakes, caecilians, newts/salamanders, and frogs. Or even aquatic lizards, tough there are not completely aquatic species in lizards.

All of these can be easily found in US aquariums.

Do you guys think that SeaWorld counts as an aquarium or should we leave those parks out of this.

Probably because it's decidedly more of a zoo with an excellent, though small aquarium collection :p

In that case it would be an interesting player, as it would either triumph with its diversity in mammals and birds or would not stack up to other facilities and their aquatic animals. Still, it's an aquarium and it seem strange to have it omitted.

Oh I agree, I'm just saying that's why some might question its inclusion.
