It's now summer time at Longleat and the animals including Anne the Asian Elephant are doing really well despite the heat.
I heard somewhere that they built a habitat for Elk.
The situation of the European Koala population is getting more and more a mess, I really hope that the subspecies will be managed in seperate breeding programs.it sure is a very exciting time when the Koalas and Wombats arrive. here's more about them https://www.longleat.co.uk/news/longleat-to-host-international-koala-breeding-programme
It will be realistic to assume these southern koalas will remain separate from the other and managed koala population within the EEP / EAZA realm. The situation of the European Koala population is getting more and more a mess, I really hope that the subspecies will be managed in seperate breeding programs.
Are you sure that's put off show? Or just put down?! Longleat has history !News update from youtube Ian Turner has confirmed the three timber wolves will be put off show and a new species will be put in their habitat. My guess would be either another canine in Wild dog or Dhole or a bear species

It would but it's surprising that Ian said a new species and to the general public another wolf wouldn't really be a different species so I don't know... or it could even be those European Wolves they've had offshow for the last 18 months. They're arrival was confirmed by the previous series of Animal Park.
It would make perfect sense for them to swap enclosures with the Timber Wolves.
