Any potential male polar bears being moved? I am thinking that one may be coming to Henry Vilas Zoo in Madison, WI but not sure if there are any male Polar Bears that could move.

Possibly Nuniq from the Columbus Zoo, the zoo he is being transferred to has not been announced.

That could make the most sense cause the HVZ is not saying what animal is coming. They are dropping hints but they also said earlier this year that Berit wouldn’t be alone for too long after they sent away their other polar bear. If Columbus zoo is keeping hush it would make sense.

From the Seneca Park Zoo Facebook page today:

"This afternoon, Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced the return of female polar bear Anoki to the Zoo. Anoki was born here in 1996. She moved to Albuquerque Bio Park in 1998 and to The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore in 2008, before coming home to Rochester earlier this week! Anoki is acclimating very well to her new habitat."

With the arrival of another polar bear at the Anchorage Zoo, did the zoo ever complete their modifications to the polar bear exhibit? Or will that be happening while the two polar bears are still there?

I believe The Alaska Zoo finished the first phase of the project. The behind the scenes housing and husbandry areas. As far as I know the second phase regarding the expansion of the public exhibit is postponed. I believe the information is available on the zoo’s website.
