When did she die?
New Zealand no longer has tapir.TAPIRIDAE
*Brazilian Tapir (Tapirus terrestris) – one female at Hamilton
Formerly Hamilton held a pair, although they never bred there. The female was born in 1991 at Adelaide Zoo (Australia) and imported to Hamilton in 1992. The male had been born in 1990 at Western Plains Zoo (Australia) and imported to Hamilton in 1991. He died in Sept 2016.
Might be one of the females from Wellington.Hamilton Zoo now has a female Cape Porcupine on display. Her name is Ingozi (Born May 2017). I'm assuming she's from Monarto unless they've (quietly) done a fresh import from Europe/USA.
That's a big oof right there. Bobcats are cool lads.![]()
According to this link, Orana Wildlife Park now hold both species of porcupine. The zoo recently received a pair of Cape Porcupine.*South African Crested Porcupine (Hystrix africaeaustralis) – three (1.2) at Auckland; one (0.1) at Hamilton; two (1.1) at Wellington; two (1.1) at Natureland
That's interesting. I'm going to guess that they are the ones from Wellington Zoo. The other option of course is that they imported a pair but that seems unlikely.According to this link, Orana Wildlife Park now hold both species of porcupine. The zoo recently received a pair of Cape Porcupine.

I just received a response back from Orana Wildlife Park. The porcupines did indeed come from Wellington Zoo. Originally the male (Lawrence) was imported from the UK and the female (Snickers) from the US.Do you have any idea where they came from?
